'Skinny Dragon' Marines return home Sunday
Approximately 140 sailors with the “Skinny Dragons” of Patrol Squadron Four will return to the Marine Corps base at Käneçohe Bay on Sunday after completing a seven-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Fredom.
The sailors are scheduled to arrive at Hangar 105 at approximately 9 a.m. where they'll be greeted by family and friends.
The Skinny Dragons were assigned to Ali Air Base in Iraq and Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily.
The squadron's P-3C Orion aircraft conducted long-range surveillance and collected tactical images of the battlefield.
Those images were transmitted to commanders in real-time via satellite communications to support Marine Corps and Army ground forces in Iraq.
